It is a substantial historical edifice placed atop a hill enthralling a vast water reservoir, palaces and a few temples within the fort. Located in the city of Bhopal, the 800-year-old fort has nine gateways, fortifications, domes and the remains of several buildings from the early medieval period. It's now an abode to hundreds of bats. It is also a shrine of a Muslim saint Hazrat Peer Fatehullah Shah Baba. It is believed that the shrine can fulfill the desires of the pilgrims. Raisen fort also abounds rock shelters with paintings created by the cave dwellers. Thereafter, drive towards Sanchi.

Sanchi is a famous world heritage site that is known for housing the stupas that contain leftovers of Buddha. Some of the popular tourist destinations of Sanchi include Ashoka Pillar, Great stupa, Temple 17, stupa 3 and Mauryan apsidal. In addition, one can also visit Temple 40 in the southern part of Sanchi and temple 45 in the eastern part of Sanchi. The great stupa in Sanchi was specially made by Emperor Ashoka.
