Sanchi is a famous world heritage site that is known for housing the stupas that contain leftovers of Buddha. Some of the popular tourist destinations of Sanchi include Ashoka Pillar, Great stupa, Temple 17, stupa 3 and Mauryan apsidal. In addition, one can also visit Temple 40 in the southern part of Sanchi and temple 45 in the eastern part of Sanchi. The great stupa in Sanchi was specially made by Emperor Ashoka.
Overnight stay Sanchi.
This morning proceed to visit Udayagiri caves, about 15kms from Sanchi close to the town of Vidisha. Udayagiri caves are rock-cut cave shrines, dating from 320-600 A.D.
On the way to Bhopal, you will visit Halali. Halali Dam also known as Samrat Ashok Sagar Project is a lakeside reservoir built on the Halali River in Raisen. Formerly known as Thal River, the pristine lake is 47 km from Bhopal to Sanchi is Halali the tributary of Betwa river. The catchment area of this project is around 699 sq km. The colossal dam is quite popular among locals of Bhopal as an excellent spot for picnic and boat rides. Apart from this, the reservoir is home to aquatic life forms such as catla, mrigal, mystus, rohu and chitala.
After completing the sightseeing there is a departure, you will be transferred to Bhopal airport/station for onward Journey.
